Other winter activities

Snow in the French Alps is much more than just skiing. The invigorating mountain air, deep blue skies are an immediate bonus from the lowland damp grey winters suffered by so many.

Besides just admiring, sketching, painting or photographing the stunning scenery there is much to occupy the non-skiers time. Take advantage of the free village bus service to explore the shops, the old buildings, farms, chapel and church.

Try guided snow shoe walks along the forest and alpine pasture trails, at the same time observing the surprisingly active winter animal and bird life.

Husky sled treks follow similar trails whilst the more adventurous snow bikes and quad bikes restrict their trips until the days skiing is complete.

For the real adrenaline junkies who want a birdseye view of the slopes there are magnificent two-place paraglider flights available.
